Regional Vice President – Northeast

The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This role is a multi-location
management position with full P&L responsibility for multiple branches. The position
requires the ability to drive the implementation and execution of the company’s growth
strategy while simultaneously leading a team of General Managers to achieve sales and
profitability targets across multiple distribution facilities.

Job Expectations:

The focus and scope of this job is to ensure that the respective field locations:
• Successfully execute the company’s strategic plan in a comprehensive and
systematic manner.
• Develop and execute coordinated strategies and tactical plans to improve the
sales, operational and financial performance of their respective locations and
• Achieve regional results that align with the company’s strategic goals.
• Achieve and maintain a safety-first culture – meeting or exceeding improvement
targets. Ensure employees work in a safe working environment, in compliance
with all regulatory requirements and meeting or exceeding safety targets.
• Build a high-performance General Manager team and ensure a pipeline of
emerging talent is in place to fuel succession needs.
• Maintain high ethical standards in all business dealings. Comply with required
company policy and procedures.
• Implement standards, goals and objectives and monitor branch performance
metrics. Take timely and necessary action to enhance and/or correct regional
performance. Develop a regional/segment business plan and analyze and
approve branch plans.
• Manage capital expenditures in accordance with company policy. Review
financial information to evaluate regional performance and identify areas for
• Increase regional share of market.
• Ensure service levels meet and exceed customer goals and expectations.
Develop, maintain and improve customer, vendor and employee relationships.
• Direct and coordinate the promotion of products and services to develop new
markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.
Review operating and sales reports to determine necessary changes in
programs or operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manage 8-10 subordinate general managers who lead branch locations with
employee population ranging between 15 to 150 employees per branch.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of each
branch in the region.
• Ensure all supervisory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with
corporate policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning,
assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and
disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• Eight to ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and
• Successful candidates must have a successful track record of leading P&L
accountability for multi-location sales and/or operations businesses.
• Experience in the millwork and building materials industry is desirable.
